DAN
I grew up in the beautiful city of Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by the love and support of two wonderful parents. From a young age, they instilled in me the importance of keeping an open mind and never stopping the pursuit of knowledge. Some of my fondest memories from childhood involve exploring the great outdoors with my family and racing bicycles with friends. Those experiences shaped me into someone who embraces life’s adventures and is always eager to learn something new
Not much has changed since I’ve become an adult. I moved out at 18 to spend a year in Switzerland before returning to Boulder to study at the University of Colorado where I studied physics, made some great friends, and raced on the cycling team. After graduating way later with my PhD in chemical engineering, I realized a stodgy engineering firm wasn’t the place for me and I moved out to Silicon Valley, where I met Tori, to keep learning, having fun with friends, and playing sports.

Daniel is hard-working, determined, and smart. My in-laws say my concentration is legendary, but I will break for popcorn or Tori’s incredible cookies. I am philanthropic and have always cared about the earth and how to improve systems. I laugh a lot and will go along with Tori’s Halloween costumes (mostly).
How friends would describe me

What Tori says about Dan
I married Dan because he is hard-working, and determined, and would make a great dad. Rather than tell you all the qualities that will make him a great dad, let me show you how he has served our dog and our late son.
For our dog, Dan read multiple books to train Cali so she could enjoy the freedom of hiking off-leash. Even when it is freezing and snowing, Dan ensures Cali gets plenty of exercise in her favorite winter weather.
While preparing for our son’s arrival, Dan read 5 parenting books out loud to me every night. While in the NICU with Owen, Dan helped me pump breastmilk by cleaning the pump pieces every 2 hours even through the night. Dan painstakingly researched every possible outcome for Owen’s condition, integrated the doctors, and advocated for Owen at every step. It is hard to imagine a more devoted and determined man when it comes to those he loves. You can rest easy, that if things go sideways as life sometimes does, Dan will move heaven and earth to turn it right-side up.
